I usually buy the giant cheap tubs of powder and then use a fraction of what they recommend. Clothes still come out clean. Same with liquid, they really overblow the amount you need. Basically it says that detergent mfgs put the recommended dose way way too high (10-15x), so you will buy more detergent.
